This place was a well-suited match for a weekend respite in Hakone with fantastic value for money. My wife loved having the option of reserving a private onsen bath. it made her whole stay much more enjoyable. Just be prepared for limited transportation options at night to avoid any hassle.

The traditional atmosphere was delightful, especially the beautifully presented Japanese dishes during breakfast and dinner. The complimentary beverages and the private hot spring experience added to the charm of the stay. However, the building's exterior appeared a bit aging, and there were some communication challenges due to limited English signage. Additionally, the mattress was thinner than expected, which affected comfort somewhat.

The private onsen experience felt exceptional. I loved the serene atmosphere with stunning gardens surrounding the property. Each meal was beautifully presented, showcasing a variety of traditional dishes that were both filling and delicious. The free drinks in the lobby added a nice touch to my stay. The room, however, felt a bit cramped compared to others I've experienced. Having at least one English news channel would have improved the TV options, as all channels were in Japanese. I noticed the towels seemed worn out, detracting slightly from the overall comfort. Despite these minor inconveniences, the beauty of the surroundings and the quality of the food made it a memorable stay.
